Grief counseling

What is it?
We believe that no one has to grieve alone.

ACPP provides free one-on-one grief consultations and grief support groups for individuals and families affected by loss. Our therapists help you understand what to expect from grief, how it can affect you, and how you and your family can begin to heal.
If you, or someone you know, is grieving the death of a loved one, our doors and our hearts are open to you, regardless of when the loss occurred. Allowing life to return after a significant loss begins with understanding what to expect from grief and how it may impact you

Who needs it?
Psychotherapy offers an opportunity to explore and work through the emotional and psychological effects of grief, based on the following principles:

  • Grief is a natural reaction to the loss of a loved one, for both children and adults.
  • Every individual has an innate capacity to heal.
  • The duration and intensity of grief are unique for each person.
  • Caring, support, and acceptance play essential roles in the healing process.
