Personal Biography
Maria is a dedicated psychologist with over five years of experience working with children, pre-teens, teenagers, young adults, and parents. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the American University in Cairo and is currently completing a Master of Science in Psychology from Liverpool John Moores University.
Throughout her career, Maria has earned several professional certifications, including Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Child-Centered Play Therapy, Sexual Behavior in Children and Teens, Intensive Learning Coach, and Special Education Course. She is also actively involved as a trainer in programs aimed at raising awareness on topics such as parenting strategies, teenage challenges, psychological first aid, gender-based violence, child behavior management, and classroom management techniques.
Maria specializes in working with children and pre-teens dealing with ADHD, ADD, ODD, anxiety, OCD, social difficulties, trauma, separation issues, displacement, self-esteem and self-image challenges, friendship problems, and emotional regulation difficulties. She also has experience supporting refugee populations. Using a combination of play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), counseling, school recommendations, and collaborative work with parents, Maria helps children develop essential coping skills and foster emotional resilience.
