Personal Biography
Dr. Yasmin Magdy is the Founder and Managing Director of the American center for psychiatry and psychology.
She received her PsyD (Doctorate of Clinical psychology) from California southern university and her masters degree with a focus on couples and family thrash from California southern university.
She is a Senior Clinical Psychologist as well as Marriage and Family Therapist and a Senior Addiction Counselor. She attained her BA of Psychology at The American University in Cairo (AUC) class of 2007, and her Masters of Arts with focus on Marriage, Couples and Family Therapy (MFT) from California Southern University, Irvine, California, United States.
She is an Associate Member of the American Psychological Association (APA), with experience in the field of counseling, therapy and psychometry accounting for over 17 years now.
Her training as a clinical psychologist was at the Behman Psychiatric Hospital, Helwan, Egypt; where she worked for over 6 years in the psychology and addiction department. In 2011, she was appointed the position of the Head of the Psychology Department at the hospital.
She holds a diverse experience in Egypt and the Middle East (KSA, Bahrain and UAE) where she worked with individuals, families, children, adolescents and groups in in-patient as well as out-patient settings and the expat community.
During her time abroad, she had the chance to come across diverse areas of counseling and being subjected to and worked with many different and unique cultures, ethnicities, religions, genders and disabilities; thus cultural sensitivity takes an important role in her practice.
