Personal Biography
Nashwa Rashad is a Counseling Psychologist specializing in individual and couples therapy. She obtained her Master's degree from the American University in Cairo (AUC).
Nashwa has always felt fulfilled by helping people and trying to understand their struggles, a passion that began when she worked as a kindergarten teacher and grew into a deep calling. She joined the Counseling Psychology master's program at AUC to develop her professional skills, and also worked at AUC's Psychological Counseling Services and Training Center as a teacher assistant. In 2020, she received an honors award from the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at AUC.
Her clinical experience spans NGOs such as Watenya, private clinics including Inside Out, the AUC Counseling Center, and Behman Hospital. She has experience treating anxiety disorders (social anxiety, perfectionism, generalized anxiety disorder), depressive disorders, eating disorders, low self-esteem, chronic illness, relationship issues, and couples. She also conducted research with breast cancer survivors on resilience and trauma recovery.
Nashwa uses Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) in her practice. She believes that people change by exploring, connecting, and being authentic with themselves, and that genuine self-love and acceptance are the foundation of meaningful change.
Nashwa speaks Arabic, English, Spanish, and French.
